Dental X-rays help
our dental team

to visualise diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissue that cannot be seen with a simple oral exam. They also help the dentist find and treat dental problems early on, which can help save you money and unnecessary discomfort.

Depending on the patient requirement, we can take the following types of X-ray imaging at KDC:

1. Intra-oral X-rays
2. Bitewings
3. Panoramic X-rays
4. Cephalometric X-rays
5. CBCT

Each one of our 6 dental rooms is fitted with its own X-ray unit, and we have a dedicated X-ray room that houses our state-of-the-art Sirone CBCT & Panoramic X-ray machine.

Key benefit

KDC is one of the very few dental practices to have an in-house CBCT machine. Due to the advanced treatments we offer, it was only natural for us to invest in this unique and advanced technology. This allows us to accurately diagnose complex problems conveniently at the practice and formulate the most appropriate treatment plan for our patients. It has allowed us to take our service level to unmatched levels. This investment in the equipment is testament to our commitment to provide exceptional service.

3D CBCT imaging offers highly accurate 3 dimensional images that can be used to pinpoint the exact location for a dental procedure. With a single scan of a CBCT machine, dentists can see much more than a regular X-ray.

A CBCT can assist with:

• surgical planning for impacted teeth
• Establishing risk for wisdom tooth removal by allowing the dentist to see how close the wisdom teeth are to the nerves
• diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
• accurate placement of dental implants
• evaluation of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity
• detecting, measuring and treating jaw tumors
• determining bone structure and tooth orientation
• locating the origin of pain or pathology
• orthodontic analysis
• reconstructive surgery
• Evaluating root canal treated teeth that have failed
• Diagnosing anything questionable in the head and neck region
• Planning for orthodontic treatment in the presence of impacted teeth

A Panoramic X-ray (PAN) takes a two-dimensional dental x-ray of your entire mouth in a single image, including your teeth, upper and lower jaws, surrounding bone structures and tissues. It is used to give your dentist a comprehensive view of your entire mouth to detect any underlying problems for example:

• Wisdom teeth
• Bone quality & abnormalities
• Fractures
• Cysts
• Impacted teeth
• Infections
• Tumours
• Tooth wear

PANs can also be used when planning treatments such as braces, implants and dentures. This X-ray allows us to provide proactive treatment solutions especially for children between 7 - 12 years by identifying possible orthodontic problems early.

Our comprehensive examination facilities allows us to provide the most comprehensive care for our patients.
