Infant oral care is the practice of taking care of a baby's teeth and gums from a very early age. It is recommended that a baby's first dental visit should occur within six months of the eruption of the first tooth, or by their first birthday.
KDC offers an amazing R10 consultation (yes that is correct - R10) for infants aged 0-18 months, led by one of our oral hygienists. The consultation focuses on educating parents on the proper care and maintenance of their child's developing mouth, including techniques for brushing and caring for their teeth and gums. Our belief is that oral hygiene is crucial from the very beginning, and preventing issues is more effective than treating them later on.
We will teach you:
• How to care for gums
• How to care for teeth
• What to use when your child starts teething
• How to brush their teeth
• What toothpaste/cleaning agents to use
• Recommended toothbrushes
• When and how to floss for your child
• How to prevent cavities from forming
• When to see a dentist for their first full check-up
